Lena Bergström

Lena Bergström is one of Sweden’s most acclaimed designers, known for transforming glass into tactile, expressive works of art.

With a background in textile design, Lena brings a unique sense of texture and rhythm to her glasswork. Her inspiration flows from fashion, architecture, modern culture, and the traditions of her native Norrland. At both Kosta Boda and Orrefors, she has designed a range of best-selling, award-winning collections over more than 25 years.

Collections like Squeeze, Carat, Cyrano, and Avanti have become modern classics. The now-iconic Squeeze Vase was originally a happy accident—an unexpected indentation during production—that evolved into a defining feature of her design.

Her glass art is represented in major institutions including the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm, the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Cleveland Museum of Art.
